CM Stage Productions is a New York based production company that focuses on developing and producing compelling new works for the stage. Under the leadership of producer Christopher Maring, the company collaborates with writers, directors, composers and other theater artists to shepherd projects through the creative development process and launch dynamic new productions. The company’s mission has recently expanded to include the development of select properties for television and feature film.
Christopher was the 2016 recipient of the T. Fellowship, co-founded by Hal Prince in association with Columbia University, awarded annually to a talented creative producer. Under the fellowship, he worked with Mr. Prince, Margo Lion, Gregory Mosher, Tom Schumacher, Jeffrey Seller and David Stone on the development of a new theatrical project.
Christopher founded CM Stage Productions in 2016 with over a decade of experience developing and producing new work. Prior to this, Christopher worked in the offices of award-winning Producers Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman. As Producing Associate, Christopher was engaged in all aspects of developing, producing, and managing major Broadway productions and tours, including the original Tony Award-winning production of Spring Awakening, the critically acclaimed Green Day's American Idiot, and the re-imagined On A Clear Day You Can See Forever staring Harry Connick Jr., as well as numerous readings and workshops. Independently, Christopher helped develop and produce Futurity, a new musical by César Alvarez (ART, Cambridge, MA and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN) and was part of the early development of Hadestown, based on the album by singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell.
